What I like

CEO is a great leader but unfortunately his ideas/beliefs are not carried on by others.

What I dislike

Too much postering for power.

Suggestions for improvement

Better research when hiring senior managers, foster a better relationship between branches & back office. Cut down on the # of supervisors in certain areas.

Company Culture

Mostly positive but many life time employees who think they run the company.

Company Image

Good image with the community. Most people would never know of the internal problems

Work-Life Balance

Employees are allowed regular time off although some people are given special far too much leeway.

Career Development

Good job is done to "promote" Career Development, but very few places to go. Favorites get 1st shot at most jobs and more weight is given to outside candidates for some jobs in certain areas.

Handicapped Accessibility

Comply with all regulations

Overall compensation for your work

My area was better than most. The formula for salary increases is very outdated and makes it difficult to really reward good employees because of an outdated formula. Also again, some raises/increases are subject to much scrutiny because there are too many people involved in the process.

Inclusive / Diverse

Very little effort to create diverse work culture

Environmental Friendliness

They do o.k.

Workplace Safety

Very good at making sure employees are in safe areas

Teamwork

Depends on which area you work in. There is a very noticeable divide between the Branch System and the back offices (accounting, mortgage servicing, loan servicing etc)

Attitude towards older colleagues

Good in some areas great in others

Support from management

Support depends on who your manager is. Some Senior Managers hold grudges and prevent advancement of employees. Far too many managers believe they or their area is most important and do not cooperate with other areas,

Office / Work Environment

Most area have a very positive work area. Where this falls apart is when cooperation is needed between areas/departments.

Challenging Work

Depends on the area. There is lots of mundane repetitive work.

Job Security

Flat out depends on your manager's whims and moods. Like to surprise people with terminations based on minor errors and opinions of others.

Internal Communication

Good communication, sometimes lack of follow through by managers.

Gender Equality

Varies with manager. Some managers hire based on opinions rather than most qualified.

Freedom to work independently

This depends on what area you work in and more importantly who your manager and senior manager are.

Not a bad place to work, but there are too many "Chiefs" and not enough "Indians"

What I like

Ability to learn due to working with several areas regularly. Generally ,most people are good too work with. The CEO is an outstanding leader.

What I dislike

Too many people that think they are "in charge". Some managers are not people persons and do not handle employees well. Too many close knit groups of seasoned employees and departments/branches do not work together well.

Suggestions for improvement

A more cooperative environment overall is needed. Too many Senior Managers and Mid Managers only looking out for themselves. More attention needs to be paid to employee suggestions and needs. High stress in all areas due to the short staffing attitude.

Company Culture

Overall positive, definite divide between branches and back office personnel.

Company Image

Company has a positive image outside only because the members are not aware of the internal problems that exist.

Work-Life Balance

Very good recognizing that things happen. Most areas work well with employees to grant time off other than vacations.

Career Development

Difficult to move from one position to another. Also moving can be made more difficult by the area/department you are in and moving to based on circumstances and timely availability of replacement/new workers.

Handicapped Accessibility

Make a good effort to provide accessibility to all areas

Overall compensation for your work

Most jobs are fairly compensated and reviewed/updated annually. While salary increases are normally given yearly, the process is difficult and too time consuming.

Inclusive / Diverse

Need to be more diverse

Workplace Safety

Very concerned about employee safety

Teamwork

Varies depending on what area you are working with. Generally very good between departments, it's when you go outside your area that teamwork deterioriates

Attitude towards older colleagues

Again, depends on the are you are working in.

Support from management

Again, this depends on what area you are looking for support from. The CEO is an outstanding communicator and delegates very well, unfortunately the rest of the top management team & mid level managers don't all share his ideas OR have their own agenda.

Office / Work Environment

Most departments are tight knit groups that protect their own. Again there is a definite divide between branch offices and back offices.

Challenging Work

Work is challenging due to the number of tasks and the people available to do the work. Company very rarely adds to staff regardless of documented need by managers. The thought is you can always get the work done with less help.

Job Security

Depends directly on where you work and who you work for. Some areas/departments less secure than others .

Internal Communication

Depending on what are you work in, ranges from poor to very good.

Gender Equality

How you are treated depends on where you work and who you work for.

Freedom to work independently

Way too much oversight and lack of trust to let employees work alone.
