Culture is extremely outdated. Many current manufacturing process advantages and strategies are not in use, and seems to be an underlying unwillingness to adapt or change. Newer leadership plans to attack this head on, but will take time to get buy in from key stakeholders.
Support from management
Very supportive direct manager, and leadership team. Willing to go the extra mile for you in your work, and in your personal life.
Freedom to work independently
Almost complete Autonomy. Have never experienced any micro-managing.
Very little accountability here, lucky if you get an email response within 3 days from certain functional groups. Some are way better than others. Major departmental segregation. Again back to the outdated culture and old school mind set many folks possess in the building.
Office / Work Environment
People are generally friendly.
AMETEK values the work life balance. This has been extremely evident in many cases during my time with the company.
Suggestions for improvement
- This site could really use a third party company to come in revamp the entire process and help reconstruct it from the ground up. All product lines. They are operating with a very old manufacturing strategy, incredibly inefficient, there is no accountability, no quantifiable performance metrics..
What I like about the company
Compensation is great. Flexibility, work life balance, new leadership seems to have the right ideas, autonomy, great benefits, good people (for the most part), great customer base, interesting products.
What I dislike about the company
Corporate leadership is out to please the share holders, rather than the customers. Bottom line dictates all. Major gaps or problems are overlooked as long as the sales numbers are at or above target.
