Support from management
Chain of command are all friends so if you're not a friend expect all complaints to be ignored.
Outside of being ignored by the chain of command the rest of the company is pretty nice. The only problem is that the Managements Golden girl is a toxic person. So far she's driven away 5 people including myself and my fellow coworker of nine years. In fact, any time she makes a mistake (And she makes tons) YOU will be the one called in and repremanded.
Attitude towards older colleagues
They literally age out, you don't have to worry about being considered too old. In fact being old is a plus because they don't have to pay you a living wage since retirement funds are meant to suppliment your pay.
Overall compensation for your work
You're paid on time, but in 9 years I only recieved a bonus of 1.25 while I was expected to maintain three different areas of the company and started doing bookkeeping and data entry. The toxic one however recieved bonus' for no added work.
Everyone hates the place, everyone is worked to the bone in vault. White employees are the first to receive over time, and to have their problems handled, all other colors are generally ignored. Coupled with the toxic employee and the company has a poor self image.
The toxic person is responsible for training all new people and does not even do her own job right so don't expect a proper education. Coupled with her intential back stabbing and deception so you never can learn to do her job. And its ok, the upper management want her anyway. They'll admit she's the problem but actively refuse to do anything about her and will make excuses to justify why she needs to stay.
Suggestions for improvement
- Fire the Toxic one.
What I like about the company
Until the toxic employee was hired it wasn't so bad. I was allowed to move about and help the other employees as needed, I learned a lot about various aspects about said company. And while some the regular customers were a pain (cultural difference in this aspect) It wasn't a bad job.
What I dislike about the company
The toxic one. Her nasty condencending behavior, having to be called in and disciplined for HER actions, and I wasn't even her supervisor. Literally she's the only reason I left.
