Supervisor was good guy more of a fall guy in my opinion though.
Support from management
The supervisor was a good guy ready to work for laid back.
Very few employees. most were easy to work with
Freedom to work independently
Work load depends on how busy they are and how many people were there at the time.
Communication and company meetings weren't very informative
Woman won't prosper here. It's a job not a career
Attitude towards older colleagues
They will give anyone a shot regardless of age. Not much room for advancement
At the time they would cover schooling if your a proven employee
Overall compensation for your work
Insurance was expensive. Pay was on time every time. Operators are minimum wage.set-up guys 10-15 average starting not much advancement from there. You won't get random reviews with raises unless you take it upon your self to meet with the owner. Retirement program was a joke! If you done stay there until you retire you will lose all contributions.
Office / Work Environment
Not the safest machines to work around if your not an attentive person
40 hours and out. Vacation is minimal in comparison to many other places I've worked also.
Depends on who you talk to.
You do your job and do it well job security isn't a problem.
Production area is unsafe for disabled workers. Depending on your disability.
Lots of old 50's style machines with many moving parts that your body parts won't show down. Machine guarding I'd pretty minimal. You must be vigilant and aware of your surroundings are all times or injuries could happen.
Most of the challenge came from the old worn out machinery
Inclusive / Diverse
Depends on your position. But don't expect to many promotions or raises
Suggestions for improvement
- Better insurance, and a better retirement plan. Some machine modernisation and upgrades would have been nice. The ceo could do a much better job. Better employee review program with proper compensation following. less micromanagement. If you don't give the supervisor full supervisory duties.it all can't all be his fault.
What I like about the company
Employees were all pretty good to work with. Fairly laid back environment.Work schedule was nice four 9 hour days and 4 hours on Friday. owner was always on site and always made time for employees if they wanted bring anything to his attention. They do give paid holidays Christmas party was cool. They are a small company and the owner was always willing to help out his hardworking loyal employees. If pay and benefits were better I may still be there
What I dislike about the company
Micromanagement, office personnel weren't very good at keeping needed things in stock which shouldn't have been very hard if they didn't spend every day on the phone with their family. They were nice bit not good at their job.Insurance was way pricey. If you need a short term job while looking for a career give it a go. But no retirement plan bad neighborhood not the best paying job and very dirty atmosphere. If you leave and had vacation used up they will deduct it from your last pay check. Some things they did had to border a fine line of legality
