Suggestions for improvement
- They need to improve communication and be open to constructive criticism. It's a very us vs them mentality that is shared throughout the zoo. Their are a ton of hardworking people who consistently feel stepped on and feel helpless as there is no one to genuinely listen to concerns. You would think that the zoo losing their accreditation who raise more eyebrows to management, however, things have maintained status quo from the ground level.
What I like about the company
The animals are fantastic.
What I dislike about the company
There is a complete disregard to safety and communication about safety issues. There has been multiple instances where I personally could have been injured or killed due to another's negligence. When attempting to address these issues it seemed to be brushed under the rug, despite their reassurance that "saftey is their #1 priority".
Furthermore, the training for the position is nonexistent. Personally, I was taught all I knew by either myself or a coworker without any supervision from management.
