AnMed's motto is "We're in This Together" and it so true to what I have seen. I have worked on the Resource/Float Team and have been to every floor. Each floor has great staff that has made me feel welcome to work their and help me throughout the shift.
AnMed holds a Magnet Recognition which allows nurses and nursing staff to have a say so in administrative decisions.
Each month employees receive many emails with performance goals and how they were met.
Depending on the day, patient workload, and staffing, the shift can be challenging or not.
Suggestions for improvement
- I would suggest better lock down on units (especially critical care units) for visitors and patients who are a "do not publish".
What I like about the company
I began working for AnMed as a summer student nurse extern, then was a nurse tech on the float pool. I have been to every floor in the hospital and everyone has been welcoming and helpful to me as I was new to the units. My manager has an open-door policy and is available to anything we have to say whether it be needing to vent or raising a concern.
What I dislike about the company
I wish they paid shift differentials while on orientation. Whether I am on or off orientation I am still working there third shift on a weekend and missed out on a good chunk of money by not receiving shift differential on orientation.
