Company Culture

Lack of communication, many unhappy workers

Support from management

Department I work at supports me fully, department I actually work for is questionable

Suggestions for improvement

  • Communication is the main key. However, we also need to recognize the work that an entire team puts into a project, not just one person. We need to recognize that there are failures, and stop pointing fingers when they occur. Instead, we need a Lessons Learned that can apply to all sorts of future projects.

What I like about the company

When my late husband died, who also worked in the same department, I did receive a lot of support and understanding. Prior administrations also valued my knowledge, experience, and the fact that I go above and beyond. That administration made it a dream to work there.

What I dislike about the company

Communication within, and without, is essential. Our department needs to better disseminate information among ourselves in order to provide the services that are so critical to a functioning government. We also need to be able to communicate information on system status, including outages and changes, in a more effective manner so that our users are not caught off-guard.
