I don't know if this is purely because I was a contractor, but there was a severe lack of communication here. It got to the point where I was told not to speak to a lot of people, even just a casual "hello" or "good morning". It came down to begging team members to just help me with specific knowledge of systems.
Suggestions for improvement
- Start with saying "hello" - even to contractors. It's okay, nobody will waste time or take over company secrets if you say it.
What I like about the company
I learned a lot. They have a tight system and solid protocols.
What I dislike about the company
Total lack of communication, and an atmosphere of dread to boot. At one point I was specifically told not to speak to certain people - even a casual "good morning". Might be because I was a contractor, but at some point it was affecting my ability to do my job for them.
