Coworkers and supervisor were very supportive.
This was something the assistant to the supervisor was scared to do. They would rather ignore the problem. The supervisor was upfront and honest without being overbearing about something you did wrong.
Freedom to work independently
Absolutely trust employees to work independently almost too much.
Not the best a keeping track of what employees could improve on or helping those that are new improve. Also, those that have been there for a while don't get any supervision.
Supervisor was good. Coworkers not so much.
It's okay. If you need to leave or be out they are flexible but it depends on the position you are in. If it's hard to fill your spot not so much.
Working with the public and around county culture is difficult. Enforcing state laws in a county that does not like the government or state was challenging.
Suggestions for improvement
- Needs a better approach to working in stressful situations.
What I like about the company
Great company benefits. Health insurance actually offered for self and children. Life insurance, flex spending account, 401k, state retirement etc. Very supportive company culture.
What I dislike about the company
Some issues with communicating consistently. Supervisors are constantly trying to improve but miss some important things such as who they leave in charge or as an assistant. Could work on more safety measures when dealing with public.
