It is a very friendly and community focused location. The employees seem tight knit and warm to each other.
Support from management
My department manager isvery easy to work with and willing to provide guidence in most situations.
The culture feels very warm and inviting.
Freedom to work independently
For the most part the company allows each location to keep their own proticals and routines.
Upper management seems to not communicate plans very well in advance, leading to department managers being overwhelmed by sudden changes
In my location, most managers and higher positions are women. I have not seen any examples of gender discrimination at my specific workplace.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Many employees at my location are older and have been working there for a long time. They do not seem to be discriminated against.
Office / Work Environment
Each department has temperature controls and comfortable work spaces.
Recycling and environmentalism is not as common in this area as it should be.
The work is very rarely overwhelming for average employees. Some managers are more stressed for time though.
I feel that the company does a great job helping people in underserved areas.
Being a hospital, it is vital to be accessible to those in any consition.
We have extensive safety training, though accidents do happen due to the nature of working with the sick and elderly.
Most days are fairly slow and routine. Occasionally it can get somewhat hectic.
Suggestions for improvement
- Allow each location more control of its own needs. The department managers are more suited than regional higher ups to build their own stratgies and proticals.
What I like about the company
The employees are for the most part very welcoming and friendly. They seem to care about one another and work well together. We get to do good by helping those in need in underserved rural areas. We often sponser community events as well.
What I dislike about the company
Upper management is more focused on cutting costs than helping provide better service, often to the detriment of the workers. Often those in higher positions seem very detached from the real day to day work that goes on, and less competent than those working in the departments.
