Suggestions for improvement

  • I think there should be a better system in handling individual department problems and better follow up. That falls into having an internal investigations in certain cases and not fully relying on the department supervisors because sometimes they are the problem at hand. In the shorter amount of time I worked there, I met and spoke to a lot of employees and I know that a lot of different employees rather being employed there for many years or not long at all had the same issues with the same people but due to oversight and not having enough time to simply ask employees what issues there were they're told to go to a supervisor but when its a supervisor who is making the bad calls or someone who works closely with that particular employee of course the correct measures are not taken and the owner is not made aware of the problem. A lot of those issues I listened to had potential of greatly impacting the overall production which in return impacts the yearly profits.

What I like about the company

The employees worked well together as a team and I learned a lot in the amount of time I was employed.

What I dislike about the company

The constant flow of employees and the individual interaction between owners and employees concerns about the management they have appointed in the shop for overseeing the work each department is doing. They overlook important violations of the department heads and go primarily off of what the supervisors/dept heads relay to them instead of periodically doing either their own investigations or randomly interviewing the regular employees and giving them questionnaires on what could better production or what violations could be taking place after having the same supervisors running a department for in some cases 10 plus years. It causes major production problems that the owners arent aware of. The company has grown so much and the owners want to oversee every aspect of every department in all the wrong areas. The same is said for the HR position. They give the freedom to hire someone but if the owner is away its frowned upon to let go of an employer who may have a neg impact on the company. They need to give more executive power to those they have appointed in the position to have that power. Instead it is just an upper management title that comes with no choices you can make on your own. They need to hire several almost undercover employees to give reports thru-out the shop to see if their dept heads are doing their jobs correctly and give more decision making powers to HR. If they keep growing the flow of employees in and out are going to increase and production numbers are going to continue on diminishing due to owners unwillingness to give the correct amount of decision making powers to others.
