I've always enjoyed a great rapport with my teamates, in other words, the people within the branch network. Those relationships are what made the job most enjoyable.
Support from management
The district manager tries his best to assist the branches. Unfortunately he has too many branches to be able to do so effectively.
Yes, honestly, code of conduct and ethics are enforced.
Freedom to work independently
The employees basically work independently seeking advice from management when needed.
Yes, goals and achievements are shared via meetings and newsletters
Women are treated fairly, in fact, the majority of the employees are female.
Attitude towards older colleagues
There is a good mix of young and older employees.
There's growth up to a certain point. Assistant Manager at the branch level. Branch manager they pretty much hire from the outside.
Overall compensation for your work
I believe its pretty fair.
Office / Work Environment
air conditioning and heating often an issue, especially in the older branches.
Yes, recycling cans are provided.
Theres very long days, late nights and weekend hours, but I'm guessing thats probably true of most banks.
I cannot deny, I do enjoy working there.
There has been a lot of terminations for whatever reasons in recent years, so......not really
Yes, facilities are handicap accessible.
I don't honestly recall any training in that regard.
I found the work most challenging due to mostly: time constraints. Taking care of customers in person, answering phones, going out on sales calls makes for a very busy day.
Inclusive / Diverse
There is many ethnicities represented, its like the United Nations.
Suggestions for improvement
- There needs to be an improvement to overall branch/bank morale. Constant transfers of personnel to fill in the gaps in branch staffing is demoralizing. Too much emphasis placed on generally unattainable goals.
What I like about the company
I tremendously enjoyed working with my various staff members over the years. They made the work experience very enjoyable. The customers overall were very nice, for the most part. I enjoyed helping them achieve their financial goals. I found the job to be demanding, yet very satisfying.
What I dislike about the company
There is definitely a disconnect between senior management, middle management, and the branch level employees. There is way too much continuous transfer of staff from one branch to another, and the branches are grossly understaffed. Technology is far inferior to its competitors, as well as the marketing department efforts.
