The culture at Applied is combative, most notably during stressful times. Unprofessionalism abounds, and is perfectly accepted as the norm. Everyone is related, or has been at the company for many, many years-most have grown up at the company together and consider themselves “family”. This situation results in favoritism and the mindset that outsiders are an annoyance and are not accepted right from the start. Though there are some very nice people that work there, most are from the “old school” and resist change, or new ideas and lack the experience outside of the company to understand what is considered professional behavior and what is not.
Support from Management
With the small town, old school mentality at this particular facility, you will not get support from management if they don’t like you. They will gravitate to those that they have worked with for many years to get something they need or want. Most of the time, they will pretend that they support you, but within a short time, you’ll discover that only lip service has been provided.
