Company Culture

It’s very high school. There’s a cool club of male jocks and a target who everyone picks on and makes life absolutely miserable until that person quits or get fired for a really dumb (and maybe not even legitimate) reason-or if the sales manager is in a bad mood.

Support from management

If you ask the manager a question and he’s your friend, you get a nice response and gifts from him, like shirts. If you ask a question and you are his target, you will get texts and emails lambasting you and basically going off on you for no reason and not even answering your question.

Gender Equality

See above.

Career Development

It’s a boy’s club.

Office / Work Environment

It’s pretty much like Lord of the Flies.

Environmental Friendliness

I’m a bit bothered that the sales manager talks negatively about female employees and makes inappropriate comments, for example sending photos criticizing their looks, telling stories openly about them that are not work appropriate.

Company Image

My understanding is, employees have been forced to come in and paint and provide their own labor and bring in home decor and furnishings for the office. An email was sent out requiring this.

Job Security

There is an extremely high turnover, especially if you are a female.

Challenging Work

It is challenging. You must learn on your own. Management is either on the phone texting or at CrossFit, not offering assistance.

Inclusive / Diverse

The one LGBT team member was reprimanded on the team for nearly dying of cancer, because, clearly numbers dropped a bit-but cancer...although he worked his tail off. And then let go. And only one sales person is female currently in the Orlando area.

Suggestions for improvement

  • I think a new sales manager-perhaps a female is a good step. I wouldn’t recommend the female who is the driving force on the sales team why a lot of people quit because she tends to be unkind to them and tells new employees stories about her unkind acts to past employees.

What I like about the company

As a female, I learned how to successfully use the restroom standing with one knee on the door due to the condition of theirs and no lock.

What I dislike about the company

That they will stick their union drivers out there, driving immediately following having been hospitalized for a condition mimicking a heart attack-ie: chest pains.

Company Culture

I don't really know what I should be sharing

Support from management

Our manager wasn't always there when we needed him.

Teamwork

Employees were very friendly with one another.

Freedom to work independently

We often worked without our manager present.

Internal Communication

The company didn't really share anything with employees but there wasn't really anything to tell.

Gender Equality

As far as I could tell it did because most of the employees were women.

Attitude towards older colleagues

There weren't too many older people working with us.

Career Development

Did not offer any opportunities for growth.

Overall compensation for your work

The union paid very well with regular, steady raises.

Office / Work Environment

I don't have any complaints.

Environmental Friendliness

I don't believe they did any recycling

Work-Life Balance

The job was only part-time, so it didn't take up too much of my time but I wish it had taken up more.

Company Image

It was never meant to be a long-term job but I liked working there well enough.

Job Security

I didn't feel that my job was in danger.

Handicapped Accessibility

Company was located within a major corporation so the facilities weren't theirs

Workplace Safety

They seemed to be overly cautious about workplace issues.

Challenging Work

It was fast-paced so there was always the challenge of moving faster, but the work itself was easy enough to do in my sleep.

Inclusive / Diverse

The issue was never really raised.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Better chain of command, and better adhesion to a clear set of rules.

What I like about the company

I worked with nice people and developed a familiar routine that was fast-paced and enjoyable and challenging enough to not be boring. Because we were in a union (I'm not sure that those are company-wide), our jobs were well protected and we were fairly well compensated for the type of work.

What I dislike about the company

There was no clear chain of leadership and a lot of the rules weren't clear. There was the official policy, and then there was what employees actually did, and that made the rules a bit unclear.

On site cafeteria is offered Free (company provided) Meals is offered Fitness center on site is offered Free Snacks/Drinks is offered

Company Culture

I think the culture is just fine- does not stand out as being amazing, but is overall good

Support from management

I wish management would contact us more and train new people directly. Too many new people don't know what they are doing

Teamwork

Yes, seems just fine at this

Freedom to work independently

Yes, I often work on my own and do not have a ton of overhead supervision

Internal Communication

I hear enough from them

Gender Equality

No issues

Attitude towards older colleagues

No issues

Career Development

Not sure

Overall compensation for your work

Low wages but I don't work incredibly hard

Office / Work Environment

Limited seating when work is slow, limited cleaning resources make it hard to keep store clean

Environmental Friendliness

They need to emphasize recycling in our c-stores more

Work-Life Balance

Works around class schedule which really helps

Company Image

I wouldn't brag about it but the job is fine

Job Security

No, they are constantly cutting hours at my store

Handicapped Accessibility

There is not a handicap button on the door

Workplace Safety

Yep this is good

Challenging Work

Sometimes physically challenging

Inclusive / Diverse

Seems as much yes

Suggestions for improvement

  • More communication from high up management to regular employees (ie mass emails) about the company - More adequate cleaning supplies- Better benefits for c-store workers (cafeteria workers get a whole free meal with no limits placed and we only get half off store products up to $10)

What I like about the company

I once had a sexual harassment issue I had to bring to their management and they did very well handling the issue, following up with me, and making sure I could feel comfortable at work again. They didn't ask for 'proof' and believed my statements. I have been recognized as a worker of the month multiple times which is appreciated. They seem to care about our safety and well being for the most part.

What I dislike about the company

The shifts are all very short which is annoying because if if I'm going to come into work I'd rather be there for a longer period of time. There is very little communication from high up management to the regular employees. They also don't ensure we receive proper cleaning supplies and so we have no cleaners in my store strong enough to clean up slushee stains. I wish there was a bit more regulation from higher up because some of my coworkers slack quite a bit.
