The company is aware of OSHA regulations and strives to make employee health and safety concerns an important focus of training.
Suggestions for improvement
- Talk to the employees about product changes and procedures instead of only relying on engineers and people sitting behind desks. I realize this pretty much applies to any company out there, but I recall it being a common topic of convo among coworkers at ArjoHuntleigh.
What I like about the company
Locations all over the world. If you wish to relocate, accommodations are often made to help you transfer to another location. Payroll was reliable and solving HR issues and getting questions answered was easy. Most managers are very friendly and educated and good to work for. I never saw any cut throat or negative stereotypical "bad mgmt" behavior in my 7 yrs as an employee.
What I dislike about the company
When I was initially hired, the company asked me to move to the city where our most active customer was. I did so at my own cost. After I had been a dedicated and successful employee for nearly 7 yrs they merged with another company, and changed my work location to the other company's location. This required me to start driving 75 miles each way to and from work every day with no reimbursement for my excessive cost of travel. Remember, gas was between $3 and $4 per gal. It amounted to around a 20% cut in pay in addition to the higher wear and tear on my car. Additionally I was forced to be on call one weekend per month and was told I would not be paid for my 3 hrs of travel time on days I had to come in for emergency calls. Since they had asked me to move to my current city in the first place, then transferred me to an office so far away, they should have offered me a relocation package or a separation/layoff package as soon as the change was made. Because of these issues I felt that they totally disregarded my needs regarding the situation they had put me in. Eventually after several months of high fuel costs and wear and tear on my car, they did offer me a layoff package, which I accepted.
