- Armani Exchange02.Nov 2016
Company culture is nowhere, they claim that Armani is elevated style and you must act accordingly, yet vulgar and inappropriate behavior was only corrected on two occasions. There is no cohesion in this company
Support from management
Management is everywhere, the gm was a hipocrate who was not in touch with Armani "culture"
The district manager is severely out of touch with the collections and customers who frequent the store, the regional manager was there once in the year I worked there
Daily sales goals are so heavy team members are constantly devided. Lots of fights
Freedom to work independently
You are told it's all up to you to make goals, however be prepared to be micromanaged. Management will cut in and take a client if they don't like what you recommend or force you to suggest things a customer did not ask for.
The only communication we had was usually about what "changes" needed to be made.
Single mothers were definitely given lots of privalages.
Attitude towards older colleagues
They were treated like the rest of us
There is no future for an associate here, you will work 40 hours as a part time, but won't be promoted, there are clear favorites. Whenever a management position came up the most knowledgeable top seller was passed up for promotion and it was given to someone outside the company who quit a couple months later. You will not advance, if you question upper management they will retaliate in small ways, cut time in the next week. Harrass your uniform ( even if you are in compliance). As far as training there is none. You get taught a few things but ultimately you learn from co workers who may only teach you what's convinient to themselves.
Over all there is no way you will climb the ladder here.
Overall compensation for your work
Haha!! If you get overtime you get more pay. or if you hit a sales goal with a tiny payout
Office / Work Environment
The store is ok, it's been recently renovated so I can't attest to it now.
Not that I was aware of
What life. Armani exchange was a high maintenance significant other. You're sick, too bad. Holidays, you need to stay extra late. Some days we would leave at 3 IN THE MORNING!! You would be expected back at 12 pm. School, too bad switch your schedule or take online classes they will not respect that. They state they have flexible hours but once you are hired that changes.
The name Armani has weight. And you do feel proud until you see how terrible the environment was.
Not stable. Many people were told they should start looking for other jobs.
It was inside a mall so yes
It was safe
It sells itself, the challenge was the environment
Inclusive / Diverse
It says it does, however when we a had an employee who preferred to dress in men's clothes ( she was a woman) management tried to force her into heels and dresses. She quit soon after
