Former EmployeeWorked at Arrow Electronics, Inc. (Gahanna, OH) in Gahanna, OH.

What I like

The pay and my coworkers.

What I dislike

Management was contradictory during meetings but very strict during regular work. Attendance became inflexible in the mornings during the part of the year that had the worst weather. HR was very nosy. Daily metric would fall into very low percentage for the smallest things which ran the risk of you being fired for poor performance even if you work hard.

Suggestions for improvement

Make daily percentages and metrics accessible to employees at all times to prevent people from falling behind. Revise the daily asset numbers as they were unreasonably high as we were expected to hit those numbers every day even if we didn't have enough assets that day. Don't point employees for everything.

Company Culture

There were many almost like HS groups of coworkers that if you weren't in you were treated like an outsider.

Internal Communication

Since I worked in warehouse most of the time we'd end up getting important information a few days to even a week after we were supposed to be doing certain things differently.

Teamwork

Many coworkers were nice enough to help if you asked. But there was a lot of pettiness if you ever got on anyone's bad side.

Work-Life Balance

Started out fine but then upper management increased our work load by an hour and expected us to work weekends. So we ended up working 9 hour days all week plus 8 hour overtime on Saturdays.

Support from management

Some of leads were great and helpful but others were picky about everything you do.

Freedom to work independently

We worked at our own stations unless we were told differently.

Inclusive / Diverse

Pretty even in workforce diversity.

Gender Equality

Just as many women as there were men in pretty much every position.

Attitude towards older colleagues

Older coworkers were the nicest and willing to help if you asked.

Office / Work Environment

Very hectic and confusing some days or slow and boring other days.

Environmental Friendliness

There were three bins for recycling.

Handicapped Accessibility

None were I worked.

Workplace Safety

Safety was decent but with all the security guards everywhere it felt like we were treated like we were stealing things.

Overall compensation for your work

Pay was decent but vacation, sick, and personal time was very limited.

Job Security

There was a lot of turnover in the warehouse some temps or new hires wouldn't even make a week or even their first day. If you were tarty for even the the slightest things or you left early even if you had a good reason you would get a point if you got 12 you were fired.

Company Image

Learned about how bad the company was through other reviews.

Career Development

There wasn't any.

Challenging Work

Everything was pretty easy.

Benefits and perks are outstanding, but unless you're a Manager or higher, you're 100% dispensable and not cared about.

What I dislike

Former Temp / ContractorWorked in IT at Arrow Electronics in Windsor, CT.

What I like

Good entertainment from Alexa keeps you moving.

What I dislike

Any form of Harassment coming from co workers not addressed.

Suggestions for improvement

Providing better training opportunities for career development, providing better PPE materials since Material come with lots of dust and dirt. Provide better medical supplies like DayQuil since dust from items make everyone sick

Overall compensation for your work

They asked everyone to apply for vacant positions but never employed anyone, after working hard and pulling good rates. The same wage for night and day shifts even though we work throughout the warehouse if needed.

Career Development

I was good as a notebook technician, but even though there wasn’t any opportunity to be trained else were even though there where vacancies.
