Asig salt lake city experience report

  • Employee

What was once a great place to work has gone to one of the worst.

1.83

Company culture

You are treated as an expendable employee and upper management will even tell you so. It was not uncommon to see grown men reduced to tears from the treatment received by management.

Support from Management

This completely depended on the supervisor on shift. They can be okay or they can be a nightmare. The best ones were driven away by the toxic atmosphere and attitude of the general manager.

Teamwork

The lower level coworkers is the only redeeming quality of this company. I made great friends, many lasting well past I moved on. While of course you get some not so great ones here and there overall anyone who worked for me was outstanding, helpful with a good attitude.

Level of Autonomy

It is extremely hard to keep things completely fair working there but it can be done relatively well. Unfortunately it is also easy to dump on someone over trivial things like a personal grudge which is more common with upper management.

Communication

Next to no communication unless it was to reprimand you for a simple mistake or not being able to pull some magic trick to perform your job without the required resources.

Office/Work Environment

Building is old, needs to be fixed up quite a bit. Equipment is extremely old and requires excessive maintenance, though the maintenance department is wonderful and some of the only management that still cares so they do their best with what they have.

Work-Life Balance

Personal life takes a back seat when you work here. Management does not care.

Challenging Work

It's a challenge to make it through the day sometimes. As a dispatcher I found work challenging, fueling usually not but still engaging.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Get management that cares, pay employees a decent wage for their work. Treat employees better so you're not working with half the employees and forcing overtime on everyone. Recognize employees have family and personal lives and be more flexible around that.

What I like about the company

The non management coworkers.

What I dislike about the company

Almost everything. Especially the upper management from some shift supervisors up to general manager. Completely disconnected from reality and on a constant power trip.
