Hard work is not rewarded. Substandard work is not penalized. No motivation is given for optimal performance. Given that the Store Director sells the compay line about there being room for advancement when there really isn't, there really isn't any trust to give from that rung in the ladder upwards. It doesn't matter if supervisors below that level commend anyone, there are no merit raises, there are no cost of living raises.
Support from management
Immediate supervisors generally stuck to plans and explained them well. The store director assumed people understood what he wanted and operated on an ad hoc basis when he felt the need. It made things less than ideal.
