Support from management
Honestly, they have no idea what they are doing most of the time. Sending people on-site with no clear direction, spending hours waiting on what to do next. Basically wasting everyone's time and money.
Decent teamwork among other engineers.
Freedom to work independently
Work from satellite offices is handed back to the main office in Charlotte, killing the billable hours required of other engineers.
The weekly and daily meetings are literally a waste of time, with no valuable information being shared. More-or-less, they are just to check attendance.
Good luck advancing. With no achievements in site, look forward to sitting at a desk all day.
Overall compensation for your work
Salary-wise, not bad. I had good pay where I was. Though, to be fair, I felt like I was overpaid for the work I was doing. Benefits? Not work it. Jacked up pay day schedule. 5th and the 20th. Rarely do you get paid exactly on those days do to weekends/holidays.
Office / Work Environment
Honestly, we get cheap hand-me-down hardware that barely works. We have to pay out of our own pocket to get something that actually works to help us do our job.
None of the above.
Vacation days/time-off can only be taken when there is no work available and no projects in progress. Working hours are 24/7. You are required to complete the work regardless of the hour. Families? AT-NET does not care. Honestly, you are forced to work strenuous hours because you don't want to feel bad for pushing the work to a fellow engineer.
Very unstable job if anything. You must meet 25 hours minimum billable hours to customers. Unless you are in the main office, in Charlotte, good luck. Most work goes to the main office.
Honestly, I only ever went on-site to sit there and look pretty. I never did any work. Most work was done remotely from the main office. I did almost nothing in my skillset.
Inclusive / Diverse
Sure, diversity among the management. As an engineer, unless you have been there a long time, you're probably in management already, but your opinion as a basic engineer doesn't go far.
Suggestions for improvement
- Better job duties and reimbursements in a timely matter.
What I like about the company
Older established company.
What I dislike about the company
Terrible hours and compensation. No tools to complete the job properly. Expense everything out and wait weeks to get any reimbursement.
