Most supervisors do support their staff
Except for a bad apple, great folks all around
Personally had fabulous boss and consistently promoted however this is not generally enforced. If you don't have an advocating manager, you're stuck.
Overall compensation for your work
Substantial promotions and raises are rare unless your manager is upper management.
there are many people who are 15+years with the bank. But, as with any corporate company, once a department becomes unprofitable, it is eliminated.

Management is conservative in attaining goal guidelines. Swayed by certain individuals, should allow input from lower managers.
