Not enough positive reinforcement, focus more on the negatives.
Support from management
Management did not set realistic goals, many goals were out of reach and we would be blamed and put down for not meeting the goals.
It started to become a competitive environment, a numbers game and team work was forgotten about.
There was a discrepancy with communication between departments. It causes a lot of issues and wasted time.
In our specific department, there were only few women and mostly men. It was evident that the women were not treated fairly like the men. For example, if one of the men workers made a mistake it was dealt with in a professional manner but if one of the women made a mistake we were ridiculed and embarrassed.
Attitude towards older colleagues
There not enough senior aged workers.
There not many opportunities for advancement or training. If you were promoted in our department it was because of the quota you met. There was some method of reward in our department, you would get certificates if you met the monthly quota (like a pre-school certificate)
Overall compensation for your work
I felt that the salary could have been higher for the amount of work and time that the position requires. Benefits are offered and you are paid on time. Getting a raise is not definite.
Vacation days can be taken when requested in advance. Working hours sometimes were normal but people often were guilted into staying late, we were not paid for overtime hours. Management often persuaded us to stay late even when we worked past 8 hours.
Other employees spoke about the company.
This job is not stable, during my time their I saw so many people quit or get fired. If you are not meeting your monthly quota you are in danger of being fired.
I was not proud of the product that we promoted because management wanted us to embellish it and be dishonest to the consumers in order to persuade them into using our product.
Inclusive / Diverse
The idea was to support different ideas, however, it always came down to what management wanted.
Suggestions for improvement
- Hire management that cares for their employers and treats with them respect and professionalism. Treat consumers humanely and not numbers. Be honest to consumers about the product and the credentials of staff members.
