Suggestions for improvement
- many attempt at bringing a 40 years old business model have been attempted but for one reason or another are rejected. there is veritualy zero marketing happening and customers that come in are taken advantage of. there isn't even a computer to write repair orders, this business is stuck in 1983.
What I like about the company
working at atlantic transmission is a very laid back and relaxed environment. the employees are friendly and kind to each other, typical you will easily be able to make a friend in the shop. pay check are weekly not biweekly, which for some people is great. the owner is very involved in every aspect of the operation, and comes in twice a week to meet with customers and employees. other positives about the shop range from location car count and the type of repairs that come in. typically jobs are simple transmission swaps and rebuilds, this is a wonderful place to get your automotive feet wet so to speak in the transmission aspect of the industry. a employee can gain a wealth of experiance related to transmission overhauls and simple maintenance. a great deal of the vehicles that come in to the shop are return customers from years of business, the shop has two locations one in jupiter and one in riviera beach fl, both locations are usually packed with customers. this company has been in business for over 40 years and has a very know reputation. most employees that work for this company have been there for more then several years. the service managers are always great to work with and pay a lot of attention to customers making sure that all customer concerns are addressed accurately the first time the customer brings in there vehicle. the average job that comes in is roughly a four to nine hour job. some of the work performed ranges from brakes and steering and suspension repairs and diagnosis to full blown engine and transmission rebuild, rarely a customer will come in with a performance related upgrade such as a supercharger or turbocharger addition to the vehicle. the best thing about working with this shop is that most of the time you will not have to deal with any waiters, the manager is very good about not scheduling waiters instead they will have them drop the vehicle of and give them a ride to a near by locations such as a restaurant or even take them to parks
What I dislike about the company
for the most part the company is know for making customers sign blank work orders with i have found to be a ethical violation in any business practice. the shop is dirty and the technician is not very well trained and could be called a parts changer, a diagnosis is something that early happens a lot of guessing and comebacks. not the best place to work if you are experienced. employees write reviews to boost shop reputation. the owner micro manages every single aspect of the operation. and if you are interested in making any kind of living this is not the place.
