Team unity is not promoted. Finger pointing and retaliation is prevalent. Hard work is required but not acknowledged for fear that employees may wish to be rewarded. Openness about products and perceived problems is not recommended.
Support from management
The management team is mainly inexperienced and not career managers.
Teamwork is not well encouraged and teams have a competitive feeling to keep wages lower. Higher earning employees are readily dismissed to lower the budget.
Freedom to work independently
Micromanagement with contradicting messages leave employees to receive blame despite following direction.
Communication within the company is needed but discouraged. The company is small but attempts to structure itself like a large compartmentalized organization. Answers to questions from an individual five feet away must be channeled through supervisors that are ten feet away.
Women have strength in the high levels of the company but may receive the wrong attention from some higher individuals if they appear a certain way.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Longer serving employees are readily dismissed or pushed out in favor of outsourcing or newly trained employees at lower wages. The knowledge held by veterans are readily discarded and the outcomes are left to chance.
The company does train in different parts of the production process but do not expect a long career with this company.
Overall compensation for your work
Decent wages that are better than fast food workers but do not expect to buy a new car or a house working here. Salaries are paid on time. Get what you need in experience and leave on your terms.
Office / Work Environment
Comfortable working conditions otherwise.
Recyclable materials are left in the parking lot so some people can pick them up.
Rather decent but consider that few employees other than management will ever afford to buy a house while employed by this company.
Employees regularly roll their eyes when talking about how the company is run. The yes men do well and the honest open employees will be pushed out. The company tries to establish an image of being high caliber because of the client base they aim for, but it is smoke and mirrors.
Company is downsizing after investing monies in the business and finding its previous growth and past success cannot be sustained. The boom they had encountered in the last few years has come to a halt and new product development cannot revive it because as the economy improves, the products offered by the company are not as desirable.
No ramps or elevators. There are ill conceived platforms in place that may require inspection.
Seems rather safe.
Work is challenging here. Production floor can be quite busy at times.
Inclusive / Diverse
It may be said that the company tries well to be diverse.
What I like about the company
They employ some good friendly people.
