Support from management
The management operates to best benefit themselves, not those they works with or the company. Unrealistic expectations need to be addressed so expectations are actually attainable.
The team was the only reason I stayed as long as I did. Constant communication and teamwork keeps the lab operational.
Freedom to work independently
The individuals who come in later, always have overtime because they are finishing all of the daily work as well as closing duties. This could be lessened if there were more people who come in later and stay till close.
Attitude towards older colleagues
The oldest employee (during my time there) was 30.
Once you become a Lab Technician, there is nowhere to go unless the lab manager is let go.
Absolutely none if you start later. Everyone has overtime, almost every day.
While I was there, 30 people's positions were eliminated across the country.
Very repetitive work
Suggestions for improvement
- Have more people start later and work until close. Don't send everyone besides the closer home until atleast 90% of the general work is done. The closer cannot handle everyone's work, closing duties, and still leave at a reasonable time.
What I like about the company
The overtime pay really made my paycheck.
What I dislike about the company
No work life balance. At the end of the day; 1 person (or 2 max) was/were responsible for finishing everyone's work throughout the day, fixing any mistakes, and closing duties. That's way too much for 1-2 people, causing an excessive amount of overtime.
