Job Security

Company is stable and growing but they love to write up employees. They care more about new warehouses and physical assets than their employee assets. You will never get much of a raise and they don't try to keep good employees, your all replaceable. Most of the employees are looking for other jobs.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Your employees are your assets and should be appreciated more, rewarded for hard work and growth. You lose many good people because you don't want to give them a little raise to match the current strong employment market. Management is quick to find fault and write up employees but never to praise a good job well done.
  • Take care of your employees and train them better, hire enough to get the job done and to be able to replace those that will leave because they are always leaving. Other than that it is a great company and enjoyed working there, wish I could of stayed there for years.

What I like about the company

Great coworkers and they are always busy. Nice trucks for the drivers and expanding into new warehouse. You do your job and they pretty much leave yo alone. Opportunity for overtime.

What I dislike about the company

No future as an employee and you will never make much more than you start with. Great employees are not rewarded and often move on. Everyone is expendable and they love to write up employees so they can keep you from making more at your review. Drivers have it good, they have plenty of relax time and are not expected to help out but the warehouse work is very hard and physical and you never catch up but make sub-standard pay. They are not very disorganized or do they train new employee much.

Company Culture

The management of this branch has been in place since it was founded in the 80's so it seems logical that the company knows of the apathetic manner local managemnet performs it's task and accepts it as ok and acceptable.

Support from management

upper management has no interest in employees unless someone forces them to take an interest, and that normally means a complaint or failure of some sort as they would ignore any positive ffedback they got from customers as that did not require them to address employees

Teamwork

if management has no interest in working with employees employees tend to do what they want unless there is negative feedback from a customer.

Freedom to work independently

If employees know the only criteria is to get the job done without any real supervision they tend to put things off or not do them at all and expect other employees to pick up the slack.

Internal Communication

No, the only way employees are provided with information is if someone fails to accomplish a task because they do not have the information and a customer complains.

Gender Equality

No women work at the dallas branch. I do not believe they are even interviewed.

Attitude towards older colleagues

If you are willing to stay and not say anything you have a job for life.

Career Development

There are none. They will raise the amount of work you do but no raise in pay or benefits come with the increase. They only give 1-2% yearly raise.

Overall compensation for your work

Benefits are paid for by the employee only and my medical insurance alone took one days pay a week to cover.

Office / Work Environment

The reciving dock is on one end of the building and the stairs and door to walk into the warehouse are on the other end of the building. There are vents in the roof that are never opened and heaters that went years without ever being repaired. Again only if a customer complained or a safety inspector issued a warning was anything having to do with the building dealt with.

Environmental Friendliness

They want everybody's money and have to accept that when you do nothing to motivate employees they only ones that stay long term are those that can accept that.

Work-Life Balance

strange situation, they were so uncaring they would allow multiple employees in the same area time off at the same time and force whoever was left to do their jobs and the jobs of thoswe they let off and force them to stay till it was done.

Company Image

No one I ever toaked to spoke well of the company but because I did my job I never spoke to management. Only employees.

Job Security

If you showed up and did not complain you could have a job for life. Whether you worked or not is not a big factor as management only cared if the overall job got done or not. Did not matter to them who did it.

Handicapped Accessibility

If the owners of the building provided it then the management of the branch did nothing to prevent it's use but they did nothing in regards to improving any of these either.

Workplace Safety

My experience with this was they started following OSHA standards after corporate in Arizona demanded they do so and that was only after an incident occured at one to the other branches that made OSHA take a serious look at their practices.

Challenging Work

I resigned because I was starting to lose my pride in my work and that was not acceptable to me.

Inclusive / Diverse

no, they do not want to hear from employees any more than they want to talk to them.

Suggestions for improvement

  • They would have to care for any suggestions to work. They have an atmosphere of bottom line indifference.

They do leave you alone.

They leave you alone as in completely alone.
