Support from Management
As a teacher I worked at two different schools within BCPSS, the principal's seem to be overwhelmed with work to the point that the assistant principals more often than not played a bigger part in supporting staff. In many cases this caused issues for teachers who had an administrator (asst principal) who did not come from the field they were teaching in (i.e. an admin who came from an english dept background over a math or career and technology teacher). This often resulted in the incorrect type of support being offered to the teacher due to the administrator not being able to understand what was going on within a classroom that they visited.
I like about the employer
Despite the bad rap that the city of Baltimore often gets, the children and those who dedicate their lives to teaching them are simply amazing. They provide a warm and wonderful, caring environment where you feel as though your peers truly respect you, and they are always willing to lend a helping hand.
