No, no and no. Employees are encouraged to report on others, supervisors lie to your face
Support from management
Company makes a big show of their annual anon. survey, but nothing ever comes of it - nothing changes.
until recently, my department was a 100% in this area. Then management decided to "restructure"...now it is every man for himself
Freedom to work independently
again, until recently everyone was crazy busy, but it was everyone. With new changes, it is impossilbe to get your job done AND assist others that need help.
Communication has ALWAYS been terrible.
depends directly on the supervisor
Attitude towards older colleagues
Terrible. Older more experienced workers routinely forced out and replaced with cheaper labor
not what you know, but who.
Overall compensation for your work
Absolutely not in any way.
Office / Work Environment
computers are way behind - just upgraded to W7 this year and internet explorer that is being used about 1/2 of applications we need won't run on it.
depends on the supervisor
Once upon a time, it was the best place to work. Now, not so much. Long time loyal employees are leaving in droves.
Highly likely; no jobs are stable at this point.
Suggestions for improvement
- Actually listen to your employees, instead of putting on the big show of saying you do. You have good, experienced, loyal employees, and you are running them off. If someone tells you something looks good on paper but won't work in the real world and can back it up....LISTEN TO THEM...even if it is not what you want to hear.
What I like about the company
I used to love working there; however in the last year or so the culture has shifted dramatically; went from loving to go to work to dreading it every day.
What I dislike about the company
Management does not listen; changes are implemented in spite of the personel who peform the specfic job function advising that the change is completely unsustainable and unrealistic. In all departments the reasons given for these changes are "financial reasons", despite the company continuing to have massive quarterly profits. This has happened across all the lines of business of the bank.
