Company culture is good.
Support from management
Management claims they want you to grow, but then again does nothing to help you move up within the company. Also favoritism is a big factor.
Front staff and back nurses and doctors do not communicate properly. Many meetings have been had to improve comm. but not much has changed.
Freedom to work independently
Work load depends on what staff is working that day.
Communication is not a strong suit here to say the least.
About 95% of the staff are women & they are appreciated. You can almost say men are under appreciated and discriminated against.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Most nurses are older than the front of the staff employees but it seems all ages are appreciated and supported.
Overall compensation for your work
Benefits are great. The nurses and doctors make good money but does not pay the employees in the front of the house much of a salary. The patient financial reps make $12-$15 dollars at best. PFR's are completely under appreciated.
Office / Work Environment
Working conditions are great. For a period of time there was a mosquito infestation in the front lobby but after some time the mosquitos died.
The company does try to save paper and other products but mostly because their bonuses depend on it.
Work hours are fine and management is very lenient on vacation days as long as you ask in advance.
The employees do not talk fond of the company at all. They complain daily about many different issues but mainly that there is no help from management for opportunities to grow within the company.
The job is very stable. Management knows they can't let patient financial reps go because it is so hard to replace them. They have so many responsibilities and get paid next to nothing. Truly sad.
Everything is provided besides ramps, the Miami lakes urgent care does not have Ramps at their facilities.
Work conditions and training is great.
I do not feel a sense of accomplishment when completing tasks. You are not challenged at all at work and most pep just go through the motions.
Inclusive / Diverse
Diverse options are encouraged, but if it's not in the budget the ideas you have will be disgarded.
Suggestions for improvement
- Change the management, nurses and others do whatever they want. There is no repercussions for anything and employees use this to their advantage. Management won't discipline anyone and that won't help the company culture at all here. Very disappointing place to work unless you are a nurse.
What I like about the company
I don't really like anything about the employer. The best thing is that they match your 401k, BUT if you do not work for Baptist for 3 years they will not match anything. Terrible.
What I dislike about the company
High school atmosphere, lots of gossiping from everyone. Management has a lot of favoritism towards the nurses. Management does not health employees grow within the company although they say they do, they do nothing about that. Management does not staff the appropriate number of staff so they can save money for the company and earn bigger bonuses for themselves. With the work load and amount of patients seen daily it's more like an emergency room than an urgent care, makes it so much harder when management doesn't staff enough people. I have worked for the Miami lakes urgent care for 2 years and we have ask for help on Thursdays and Sundays since I started and they still haven't helped with the staffing concerns because "it's not in the budget."
