Company Culture

Overall, while there is room for improvment, the culture isnt bad

Teamwork

I think this is true. Healthcare is jmpossible without teamwork.

Freedom to work independently

I can say tuat I often feel micro managed

Internal Communication

Communication is always hard in todays world. Im not even sure how I would improve this areaIm not sure how I would

Gender Equality

Nursing ( my area) is female dominated.

Attitude towards older colleagues

Eh...not so much. Ive seen people fired/ forced out to hire younger people who demand less money.

Office / Work Environment

One issue is supply shortage.

Environmental Friendliness

Too much waste at my hospital

Work-Life Balance

It is my responsibility to balance my work and life.

Challenging Work

As this is healthcare, ky work is extremely challenging, even on a good day.

Inclusive / Diverse

My workplace is very diverse.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Hard to say. I dont like being critical because behind most problems are variables that I might not know about, and I want to be fair to those who have to make hard decisions.

What I like about the company

As I said, working here has lead to me discovering my calling. I initially wanted to be a professor, but fou d healthcare to be a much better fit.I am now pursuing a degree in nursing, with hopes of being a nurse practitioner on day soon. This job has been a true blessing.

What I dislike about the company

Nursing in general is in a state of flux. It is attracting many new people who approach it as a second career( which is fine) but many who get the job simply arent cut out for nursing. A good student does not make a good nurse. Coursework is important, yes, but one must havthe right temperment to work with ailing people. One must be patient, kind under pressure

Company Culture

it is a very mixed bag. though I see signs of change and attaempts at growth, I am troubled by the fact that the hospital feels more and more like a corporation.

Support from management

my managers ALWAYS have my back.

Freedom to work independently

I think that many of the people making decisions about nursing and patient care have never actully done those jobs

Internal Communication

though I have no suggestions, communication could be better.

Gender Equality

nursing, as it stands today, is actually a female dominated field. As a minority male, I am something of an outlier.

Attitude towards older colleagues

I would give it a 5, but there have been times when I've seen older, more experienced (and I would think therefore more valuable)employees treated unfairly.

Career Development

I, for instance, take advantage of tuition reembursment every semester.

Overall compensation for your work

I know others make more doing the same job at other companies

Environmental Friendliness

there is an enormous amount of waste. im not sure how to correct this.

Challenging Work

Taking care of people is an extremely demanding calling, but one I enjoy.

Inclusive / Diverse

I can honestly say that my workplace is extremely diverse.

Suggestions for improvement

  • I think I would like to see the company offer praise as much as they offer (admittedly much needed) criticism. often, it seems as though we can't do anything right.

What I like about the company

I have decided that healthcare is going to be my career. I like taking care of people, and there is room for growth as healthcare is in ever increasing demand.

What I dislike about the company

As I mentioned earlier, the Company feels more and more corporate all the time. I think a hospital should be run like a ministry. Instead, I wonder if the decisions being made are being made by people who don't and never have worked at the bedside.
