Suggestions for improvement
- Change motivation through threats culture.
- When hiring rank and file, you get what you pay for. If you can't stay in the game, fold.
The only valuable culture at B&N are the friendships made between booksellers who enjoy what they do; the corporate culture imposed by the upper levels of management is oppressive to say the least... Too much pressure from shoddy district/regional managers trickles down to the store level.
Too much pressure from upper management leads to unrealistic expectations...
