BAYADA Home Health Care experience report

  • Employee

I am the clinical manager for an adult skilled nursing office, time and new directors created a really hostile setting

1.67

Company Culture

My direct coworkers in my office are largely shallow, self-serving, and focused only on their bottom line/profit margin.

Support from management

Management only intervenes if I am going to get in the way of a billing record

Teamwork

Coworkers are not allowed to exchange numbers and are threatened with sanctions if they attempt to hold each other accountable rather than mandating that office staff be dragged in to every situation

Freedom to work independently

Micromanagement has driven away many coworkers and isn’t getting any better

Internal Communication

Only feedback received is negative, usually months after the fact, and seemingly only to serve a thought out purposes rather than being genuinely about helping me improve

Career Development

There is no opportunity to grow in your career if you aren’t willing to see dollars over outcomes

Overall compensation for your work

I get paid average for my position and experience

Office / Work Environment

Office winter year round and notes left not to adjust the thermostat. Meanwhile teeth are chattering

Environmental Friendliness

Everything goes in the trash. I was forbidden from starting a recycling program, actually.

Work-Life Balance

On call 24/7 for the clients I am assigned

Company Image

I am looking for a new job

Handicapped Accessibility

The accommodations are difficult

Workplace Safety

Working conditions for fiend staff are overlooked at the desire to turn profit

Challenging Work

I love that my position constantly pushes me to go further to create better circumstances and outcomes for both clients and field staff

Inclusive / Diverse

The African American field staff are paid less over and over again than their Caucasian counterpart

Suggestions for improvement

  • See previous comments regarding ways conditions for direct care workers/field staff could be improved upon

What I like about the company

I love touching people’s lives, helping them live at home, and advocating for field staff to create better working conditions

What I dislike about the company

Field staff are not offered enough PTO time to allow for any interruption in their normal lives without exhaustive consequences to their accrued time off, they are not considered “full time” no matter how many hours/years they put in, and their benefits are too expensive to afford while only providing limited coverage. And they get a 25 cent raise per year, if anything. Less than the cost of living increase we all must face. However yearly office staff celebrations are all expenses paid and ridiculous, unthoughtful/unneeded gifts (ex. a car dash camera) are given to office staff for revenue records.
