Beacon staff gets upset with each other rather than work together to resolve issues. Very unprofessional, creates stress, and reduces productivity.
Sexism runs rampant here. Affects pay, promotions, respect, credibility... Management does not respond to claims well. Has fired people who won't put up with it.
There is no training here for most positions. Sink or swim.

The amount of paper waste at the company is atrocious. They have no recycling program, because it costs money.
Office staff work 10-12 hour days when it's NOT busy. Sometimes you just play solitaire for hours instead of seeing your family, but the long hours are mandatory.

I don't feel my job is stable because the construction industry is so volatile, and the company fires people or forces people out so they can hire less expensive staff. Unfortunately, new staff lack skill, which translates to even less profit.
The elevators have been broken for months and no one cares. It's not handicap friendly.
Warehouse staff is safe; office staff needs training on how to be safe, and need to take it seriously. No AC in summer, no heat in winter, and reluctance to take care of plumbing issues because of overhead are just some issues plaguing the company.
Inclusive / Diverse
The company is not inclusive. It may hire women and people of other cultures and races, but they don't usually feel welcome.
Suggestions for improvement
- The entire company needs an overhaul, which needs to be run by people from a variety of backgrounds. There is a reason the company is losing money and why employees are running for the hills.
What I like about the company
Laid back environment, low-cost insurance, interesting work.
What I dislike about the company
Sexist culture, not very diverse or open to diversity. Very few promotional opportunities. Most people work up to a certain position and then choose to leave. Poor quality insurance, HR doesn't take claims seriously, company removes bonuses and refuses to pay people what they're worth.
