Suggestions for improvement

  • They need to listen and pay the warehouse workers more money if they want to keep people working there for more than short term.

What I like about the company

There are a couple of good hard working people that I work with that make the job easier to deal with.

What I dislike about the company

The feeling of people that work in the office a are better than the hard working men that work in the warehouse. Harsh working conditions in the warehouse ie. Extreme heat and extreme cold. No breaks.

Suggestions for improvement

  • The safety culture needs to be upgraded. They preach it, but do not offer the proper training or support needed. They also use fear as a tool, instead of doing the right thing and going home safe. Beacon desperately needs to upgrade its facilities. We are running out of space at a rapid pace, and will have a hard time beating budget next year. Beacon also needs to worry about replacing open positions in a timely manner, as opposed to having a ""wait and see"" mentality. You can't increase sales with less staff.

What I like about the company

I have great co-workers. We have built a strong group, and try to help each other out. We have worked hard to build a strong branch, and have succeeded in increasing sales year over year.

Company Culture

Beacon staff gets upset with each other rather than work together to resolve issues. Very unprofessional, creates stress, and reduces productivity.

Gender Equality

Sexism runs rampant here. Affects pay, promotions, respect, credibility... Management does not respond to claims well. Has fired people who won't put up with it.

Career Development

There is no training here for most positions. Sink or swim.
