Great team atmosphere. Co-workers are great.
Support from management
Goals are not clearly communicated and there are so many roosters in the hen house, the hens get caught between different expectations. It is frustrating.
co-workers are always willing to lend a hand
Freedom to work independently
Independent work is encouraged as long as it is like everyone elses work
Yes! We are actually dominated by women. We need more men in our field.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Not really. The company is targeting millennials. This is frustrating when you are are experienced with a family.
BCOTB does encourage career development which is nice.
Overall compensation for your work
I feel I am adequately compensated although when working over 40 hours and extra on the weekends without extra pay because of salary is frustrating.
Office / Work Environment
The lights are florescent and hurt the eyes. I would prefer LED it is safer for staff and clients.
No! No recycling, wish there was. Improper lighting.
Families are claimed to be taken into consideration but they want you to work more than forty hours a week plus it is 'highly encouraged' to participate in outings on the weekends, marketing events on the weekends, and write company blogs on your free time.
BCOTB does present a good image and we provide quality services to children with autism. That I am proud of.
The company is growing and there are lots of positions.
They are compliant although no training's are provided.
I love the work I do. I help children with autism and their families.
Inclusive / Diverse
Diversity is supported but not always ideas.
Suggestions for improvement
- To care more about the environment. Fix the lighting from florescent to LED and consider recycling of plastics and cans. We waste so much as a company.
What I like about the company
I love the team atmosphere and support that middle management provides. I love the work I do and helping children with autism.
What I dislike about the company
I do not like how upper management is becoming so focused on making money that they are forgetting about the life of employees outside of the work place. Expectations for work above the 40 hours we are paid. They try to paint the picture that there are so many extra benefits such as after hours company functions but this is not a benefit when you have a family that requires attention too. I just feel the expectations of balance between career and family are off and not taken into consideration.
