Support from management
My direct supervisor is still new, so I support more than I'm supported at this point.
This is stressed constantly. Communication is a huge struggle in all companies, so it's driven to be mastered.
Freedom to work independently
Some micro-management, but this has improved over the years.
Sales/profit status are communicated monthly, goals are clear, etc.
Majority are female employees
Attitude towards older colleagues
Several people are in this age group - they are given fair opportunities. Being higher tech, some of this age find that their skills aren't a good match.

Overall compensation for your work
For my position
Office / Work Environment
Very accommodating with space heaters, foot rests, standing desks, etc.
The recycling program is excellent
For retail, the shifts are well-balanced.
There's always a shadow of doubt after having witnessed several surprising terminations
One of three locations is fully accessible
There's a safety committee that strives to make everyone aware of safe practices from walking on ice to staying safe in customer homes
High expectations for near perfection from customers and management present the greatest challenge.
Inclusive / Diverse
The values are clear, but others are not dismissed or disrespected
Suggestions for improvement
- Wall colors need to change, it seriously would improve morale.
