Support from management
I was hired to start a new department with little to no supervision from leadership. There were all these incredible expectations but little support.
Only minor issues with colleagues, like anywhere else there is friction.
Freedom to work independently
Initially my position was autonomous but when impossible goals were not achieved within a small time frame, I was bombarded daily.
Little to no communication and no one seems to be on the same page
I left the job because I was pregnant and felt as if I was being pushed out because of it
Moving up in admissions is possible but changing departments is very difficult
In Manhattan the admissions department is in the basement with no windows or adequate ventilation
Suggestions for improvement
- Better training for management and a more employee focused culture especially in admissions.
What I like about the company
Starting pay was pretty good. Benefits are provided.
What I dislike about the company
Ineffective leaders, lack of communication and lack of genuine concern for employees.
