A thankless job, but you get a bonus twice a year, if you're lucky.
Support from management
My supervisor rarely got back to me when I left her messages either via phone, email, or handwritten letter.
The colleagues are generally in a "clique" based on what department they work in. A lot of backstabbing goes on.
Attitude towards older colleagues
In this business, it's definitely "who you know"
Overall compensation for your work
You don't get paid nearly enough for what you have to deal with
This they are good at, since the business revolves around people with disabiltiies
It can be very violent, and if an employee gets hurt, it is "most certainly their fault and they should have been more careful"
Suggestions for improvement
- Raise the pay rate and treat the employees with more respect and appreciation
What I like about the company
It was a job and helped pay the bills
What I dislike about the company
There is a lot of gossip/rumors that goes around about employees. People have quit and it was rumored that they got fired. Employees are constantly blamed for things that were not their fault or that they had no control over. The job can be harmful to the safety or the employees, but if an employee gets injured, it is the fault of the employee, according to this company. Employees don't get paid nearly enough for what they have to deal with.
