A good place to work overall. The learning curve is intimidating to many, but necessary to ensure compliance.

3.78

Teamwork

Encouraged but mgmt is not usually aware when it doesn't happen

Freedom to work independently

Teamwork is always encouraged & necessary

Gender Equality

Definitely a company strength.

Attitude towards older colleagues

Needs improvement in recognizing the knowledge & experience older employees have to offer when newer trends from a younger work force take over.

Career Development

Doesnt appear to be the same across all age groups

Overall compensation for your work

Starting salary is, however, annual increases & gain sharing earning potential can be inconsistent & biased with unclear expectations.

Office / Work Environment

Co excels in providing equipment for in office employees that supports health & wellness including ergonomic equipment & sit/stand desks

Environmental Friendliness

Strict recycling policies to ensure our members personal data is always safe.

Work-Life Balance

Ability to telecommute full time has a major impact on work/life balance

Job Security

Layoffs can occur in the form of voluntary separation with severance primarily employees ages 50+ with 15+ yrs of service. If an employee declines however they still risk being included in the layoff without severance if the volunteer % target is not met.

Workplace Safety

Drills are done occasionally for fire & weather related emergencies.

Challenging Work

There is a minimum 2 yr learning curve

Inclusive / Diverse

The co supports a number of initiatives in support of minorities, veterans, LGBT etc

Suggestions for improvement

  • Provide more training at the supervisor level in basic leadership and employee satisfaction.

What I like about the company

Telecommuting is a valuable benefit for me as I live in a rural area 35 miles from the office. I also get to enjoy a flex schedule not offered by most employers. The co also awards employees for volunteer work in their communities.

What I dislike about the company

The emphasis on diversity & inclusion needs to include employees age 40+. Target goals need to be less subjective & more clearly defined with consistent and effective coaching through out the year.
