This company has a policy to not disrespect fellow employees. If you were caught talking about someone else, you would get in trouble...possibly written up or fired. This is a great policy if it also applied to upper management.
Support from management
This company is co-owned by scientologists. Need I say more.
There is no teamwork at this company.
Freedom to work independently
The workload is not fairly distributed. Every departmental managers ideas were disregarded because the VP wants the managers to micro manage.
There are monthly meetings and employees are loosely informed.
This company was primarily women.
Attitude towards older colleagues
This company is the other way around. If you were not one of the "original" hires at the start of the company, you were never fully accepted. The older employees there were meaner than any young employees.
I can only recall one time in which there was a training class. It was held on a Saturday. No pay. I was not able to attend due to a personal commitment. On my return to work I asked if anyone could fill me on and the answer was "no". And yet for months, I was told that "if I had gone to that class I would understand".
Overall compensation for your work
The pay was pathetic for all employees. Benefits were offered but were costly.
Office / Work Environment
The building smells like mold and mildew. There are ant issues. There are a few large rooms and a few small rooms. None of the walls go up to the ceiling. You can hear anyone talking. The database was only updated if the VP had ideas of improvements, everyone elses ideas were on "the list".
As previously mentioned, this company is co-owned by scientologists. Your feelings and ideas were not considered important.
Requesting and receiving vacation was not an issue here. There was a problem with co-workers actually attending work on a regular basis. Very few were every reprimanded. Changing your start and end time was not permitted unless you "got your time in" . . . as in years of working there.
Employees do not talk fondly of this company, as mentioned before, it is the VP's way or no way at all.
This job is not stable.
This company is all 1 floor. A disable person would be able to enter through the front door. There is 1 handicapped parking spot. There is a cement step in the back of the building. And if it rains enough, the parking lot fills up like a pond, so a blow up raft would come in handy to get your car at the end of the work day.
I have no idea.
The work was not difficult. You are loosely trained and then audited and given "errors" and had to hang a graph at your desk so others could review/compare themselves.
Inclusive / Diverse
This company hires ex-convicts, tran genders, lesbians, spouses, relatives etc. They hire and fire all the time because they do not know the correct questions to ask during an interview.
Suggestions for improvement
- Upper management needs to either be trained with management skills or clean house altogether. When an employee repeatedly offends employees, they need to take action and not just write it off as "thats just the way she is".
What I like about the company
Nothing. This is one of the worst companies to work for.
What I dislike about the company
Too much micro managing. They also take on too much work at one time because of dollar signs. The emails received from the VP were sent without punctuation, misspelled words, and contradicting context.
