We have multiple cultures in our company
Support from management
Depends on the day or scenario.
I’m not really sure they care. Hiring has been difficult so they just hire whoever applies.
Freedom to work independently
They tend to put us into positions that we have to figure out how to safely get our patients taken care of. Sometimes we work so independently we’re the only one working.
We get a weekly email. We used to have upper management that walked through and addressed our concerns and met with us to talk to us about the changes but in recent times things have just slipped through the cracks.
Very true. Based on education and years of experience.
Attitude towards older colleagues
I’m not sure. Most people don’t make it that long in healthcare.
In my area it is very minimal and the management seems to get away with a lot preventing those of us who actually work from moving up.
Overall compensation for your work
There are definitely discrepancies in pay in our company compared to others.
Office / Work Environment
They try to stay up to date on the latest technology and routine maintenance.
They want us to work harder and more for less pay.
Some days yes some days no. It depends on how overworked I am or if I’m put in an unsafe situation. There are other times that we are the top of healthcare with advancements and availability of certain things.
They truly expect us to be miracle workers and that sometimes puts us into unsafe situations.
The patients are getting harder, sicker, bigger and have less ability to do things for themselves. The corporation sometimes forgets that we’re a healthcare service and we need to keep our employees happy to be able to properly take care of patients.
Inclusive / Diverse
Multiple cultures and races and types of people.
Suggestions for improvement
- Really listen to your employees and what they need. Great employees stay for great employers. Also look at the markets regularly and pay your people appropriately or even better than your competitors and you’ll have the best employees to take care of your patients.
What I like about the company
The company itself has a big impact on the surrounding areas. They tend to be in areas that people struggle with having healthcare and have ways of helping people get taken care of. They also try to achieve higher standards of care and new technologies and techniques. The recently started focusing on variations and helping people to be overall healthier that leads to less problems in their future.
What I dislike about the company
How they treat a hospital like a business without consulting people in each area for how long it takes to do things. T gets exhausting trying to beat a number that can’t reasonably be met and when we attempt to address it nobody has answers or solutions.
