What I like
The location was convenient and the people in the Buffalo office were extremely friendly and considerate.
What I dislike
Micromanagement, lack of career development and no flexibility whatsoever....
Suggestions for improvement
Let Bond Buffalo run with their ideas to gain market share.
Culture guides discretionary behavior and it picks up where the employee handbook leaves off. Culture tells us how to respond to an unprecedented service request. It tells us whether to risk telling our bosses about our new ideas. There was an open door policy in Buffalo, but ideas were usually declined from Syracuse.
Usually very lackluster.
Support from management
Managment in Buffalo was controlled by Syracuse. They were dictated on how to run the firm.
Freedom to work independently
The Marketing Director (in Syracuse) closely observed and controled my workload; providing me with lack of freedom and any creativity.
Overall compensation for your work
Paid very well.
Bond is very well known in Syracuse, NY but the Buffalo office has branding concerns.
I did not have access to career development resources and tools, which provide direct opportunities for knowledge sharing and optimal employee performance.
Engaged employees are cited as being involved in, excited about and committed to their jobs. Unfortunately for me, the workload was minimal, repetitive and uninspiring.
