What I like

I've been very supported by management especially as I transitioned into motherhood. They have been flexible with my hours and being able to work from home. They supported me through my master's degree and they've been with me every step of the way as I try to advance my career.

What I dislike

I wish they got a better maternity leave years ago. They should have been the leader in this. They also don't pay well compared to other companies. Transportation and parking there is tough and I wish they subsidized more of the parking as it's my only option to get to work.

Suggestions for improvement

Getting rid of 2% raise and allowing for more would boost mood and retain more employees. They don't pay well.

Company Culture

It's a mostly positive environment

Challenging Work

It's very fast paced and demanding.

What I like

The work itself is challenging and the doctors I work for a very kind

What I dislike

Work as a team, don’t give preferential treatment to best friends lower on the ladder and give everyone a chance to succeed and move up in the company

Suggestions for improvement

I would simply treat everyone fairly and give everyone a chance to succeed without playing favorites

While the benefits are decent, more could be done in promoting diversity in management positions in all departments.

the hospital is generally a good place to work except over the last year when new upper management came in.

What I like

ive generally liked the company until I switched location and the manager thrives on conflict and focus is on the wrong things. I'm in my 40s, I just want to do a good job, help my coworkers and go home to my family at the end of the day and forget about work until the next day.

What I dislike

i disapprove of upper managament and how they bully some of the employees. I have an HR background and have never seen anything like this.

Suggestions for improvement

I would like to see constructive feedback from the manager and not having the manager hide. I would like the see employees treated fairly.

This is a great place to work for the most part, but there are challenges. It is great to have on a resume.

EmployeeWorked in IT at The Children's Hospital Corporation in Boston, MA at the time of review.

What I like

Working for a hospital can be greatly rewarding as you can have a huge impact on patients and families during some of their hardest times. There is a great team of people working there and they are all pulling for the same thing.

What I dislike

There is a feeling that just working at the #1 children's hospital in the world should be a benefit itself. Because of this, many benefits have been rolled back. Everyone can also make more money.

Suggestions for improvement

Everyone needs to make more money. There needs to be assistance when it comes to raises, transportation help and benefits.

Company Culture

A lot of the people are great, but there is a lack of respect and a thought that employees should be happy just working at the company

Work-Life Balance

this can get challenging.

Teamwork

this is essential

Challenging Work

I am creating a new role and problem solving every day.

Internal Communication

Can be good, but is a struggle

Freedom to work independently

Lots of opportunity to work independently
