The work I have done here is meaningful and I can see how I have made a difference. BMC is a diverse place that promotes respect and acceptance. I have become good friends with many of my co-workers.
my experience with them is when i had my third child i got seek and they gave me an extra 3 weeks paid to stay home. i thought that was very thoughtful of them to do so.i really appreciated it.
I started off as an intern and then was offered employment. In about a year I got promoted within. Alot of the positions are union based which helps though with job security

Employees don't like

The majority don't do their job and that cripples the progress of research. Majority of individuals consider their employees as machines "As if life only works until you die"There is always going to be work outside your job description which is annoying. I can help out sometimes but when working outside your job description because a routine and you don't get paid for it, that is unacceptable.
Personal time is rigourously timed and bshould be allowed more than 10 minutes a day
They have somewhat of an outdated mentality in terms of wanting employees in the office during standard working hours. Not being close to public transportation commuting during popular working hours
I do not like that employees do not have someone to go to when management is doing something wrong or unfair. HR will side with the higher up always no matter what which makes for a stressful environment
Management has a high turnover in certain departments. It does not seem like management hiring decisions take into account the culture of the unit or the people w care for.

Suggestions for improvement

Better parking rates would be great, but it is Boston. More staff involved management would be better.
The time policy is too strict being 2 minutes late is the same as an entire absent day
Manage your resources right, Improve your human resources, Also, work ethics. When it is a holiday it is a holiday don't expect me to work and not get paid for it. Have some rules on how a chairperson should treat their subordinateeliminate those to have this "passive aggress" way on treating other employee
Be more transparent. Care about employees.
Aiding patients in creating a MyChart instead of giving them a pamphlet to help them. With senior populations is much harder for them to apply on their own. With more patients in mychart the flow of making appointments, rescheduling, and answering questions would be better
