Brevillier Village has a true 'open door' policy and management listens and is open to change
Support from management
I have been working for 30 years and Brevillier Village has the best corporate culture that I've been in, in at least 20 years.
We have teams for everything and we roate teams and the leaders for teams regularly. One of my favorite teams is Team RAD (respect and Dignity) that really promotes inclusion.
Freedom to work independently
They trust their people and let them make decisions and then support them. It's a wonderful freedom that's fairly new to me.
Excellent. Mass emails & texts and a PA system communications are instant and there are enough face to face meeting to really share information.
Being in the health care field we have a high number of female employees and many are in senior management. It's never been an issue.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Older is a relative term. We have residents as old as 104 so being 65 here is nothing!
One of the reasons people work here so long is the numerous upwardly mobile career paths.
Overall compensation for your work
Excellent pay & benefits package
Office / Work Environment
Comfortable atmosphere. Plus we are literally on Lake Erie with many offices having views of the water.
We have numerous recycling programs in place and in 2017 we implemented a light replacement program that will save money and electricity in the long run. Being right on Lake Erie, we are extra careful about contamination.
They are amazing. I was sick in 2017 and used up all of my sick time and they let me rearrange my floating holidays and work weekends to make it up. Very su[pportive of family emergencies as well.
Erie's Choice Winner: Best Retirement Facility 2017 says it all.
The number of people who have been employed here over 10 years is staggering. It was one of the main reasons I accepted the job.
Many of our residents are in wheelchairs or use walkers so the whole facility is completely accessible, even the path on the lake.
We have a safety crew that meets monthly to discuss and make safety changes. Workplace injuries are kept to a minimum.
There is a wide variety of interesting and challenging things to do every day.
