Briggs no longer has a company culture since the reputation decline since the locations in Lawrence have been acquired
Support from management
Goal aren't clear and every pay plan that has been set in place has had to be argued when it's time to be compensated once goals are met.
Freedom to work independently
Management is responsible for all tasks, if an employee resigns the director will attempt to get management to take over their responsibilities on the service drive for the same pay
Communication is what only occurs when things are not up to par
Attitude towards older colleagues
Most employees outside of car sales associates are over 45
Overall compensation for your work
Benefits are good, insurance is half paid, salaries are the lowest offered in the area for management unless you obtain 10+ years of service, then they are nominal but not superior. Confirmed.
Office / Work Environment
New facilities and equipment would be the best part about working for this company
630am to 6pm Monday thru Friday, every other Saturday. I have been made to feel bad not only when asking for vacation but when I take it as well since 2009.
K-State company in KU towns, you do the math.
I am only still employed because I am one of the best when it comes to revenue. I have watched many people dropped like a card in a poker game for hopes of blind improvement by chance rather than training.
Briggs adheres to OSHA policies and is a safe place to work.
Work is absolutely challenging and very rarely are you able to feel accomplished...succeeding only buys silence from your superiors, not compensation....even verbally.
Inclusive / Diverse
Old business mentality, some want to obtain a mark in the field of social networking along with other technologies but refuse to employ or listen to anyone that understands it.
Suggestions for improvement
- Improve compensation to keep employees long enough to build rapport with customers and other co-workers alike. Customers should not see new faces every 90 days in every department.
What I like about the company
The people that work under me
What I dislike about the company
The people that oversee fixed operations, they are not promoted from within, the turnover is high, promises cannot be kept when they are no longer employed
