Suggestions for improvement

  • In my opinion it would be beneficial for employees to be given the freedom to believe and feel what they want without any pressure from employers to conform. Employees should feel free to try new and innovative things without fear of reprimand.

What I like about the company

Broken Arrow Public Schools supports it's employees and makes us feel like valuable assets. To know my work matters and that I matter makes me happy to work that much harder. My bosses remember small facts about us, greet us every morning, and make sure we know how to laugh and take the breaks we need. They make us each feel as though they truly care about us. Our other coworkers also care a lot about each other and we work hard to make things personal, productive, and positive.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Continue to foster a positive culture among employees and promote events where employees feel valued and involved. Improvements could be made in continuing to educate employees and the public on how different parts of school funding work and how each can legally be used... this will help dispel misconceptions about why certain things can be paid for or done when other equally or more important needs cannot necessarily be met.

What I like about the company

Benefits are good, but very expensive if you add anyone in addition to the employee alone. The overall morale among employees is good, and the culture is positive. Pay is okay, but there isn’t much hope for significant pay increases any time soon due to the state’s budget problems impacting school funding. In spite of the challenges, this is an excellent place to work because of the positive environment, generous time off for holidays and paid leave, and good employee morale.
