Suggestions for improvement
- When I first started there they weren't very welcoming to me being there and had no idea what department I was supposed to be in. There was also a lot of employees at this location and I felt that I didn't get to meet or get to know a lot of them because the office was so large. I would encourage the company to maybe have a pot luck lunch or dinner, get to know meeting or something to this affect so that new employees and interns in the summer feel welcome. I understand that turnover and employees happen often in this line of work some maybe doing it every quarter instead of every time there is a new employee.
What I like about the company
The people I worked with in the geology department were always so nice and welcoming and open to helping. I never felt that I was being judged or undermined.
What I dislike about the company
I later worked in the fire department and I felt that they were very disorganized and didn't take control of their employees as well as other departments. They never knew when I was in the office or what I was going. This could have been I was set up in a different department, but you would still think that they would check up on their employers.
