Suggestions for improvement

Fire the gm and just transfer any good employees to other stores. The location I worked at was a money pit.

Company Culture

Many of the GM'S know each other and there is a lot of cliques. Led to the job feeling like a high school.

Handicapped Accessibility

Given that an autistic employee was mistreated enough he walked out, I'm going to say it was nonexistent. Also, there was no way a quadriplegic could maneuver the restaurant.

Teamwork

See above. 10 people left in 3 months.

Support from management

Management was all buddies. You have an issue with you, they'll defend their pal over believing you.

Internal Communication

There is a severe lack. The GM I worked for was on her phone a lot of the time "talking to her boss." Didn't really help out on line when we needed it.

My experience working for Burger King was a good experience but my co workers wasn't all that well to work with At work.

Former EmployeeWorked at Burger King in Elizabethton, TN.

What I like

The managers at Burger King was really nice and helped me out a lot when it came to things I didn't know. They worked in showing me how to do things right. One of the managers at burger king wasn't too nice. She told me to do something one way and it was wrong. One of the other managers questioned me about it and I was honest and informed her that I did it but the other manager was the one who told me what to do with them. That manager never did like me after she was confronted by the big manager and from then on I never worked with her again. The co workers was really nice about working with me and being patient as I learned how to manage and do things myself but most of the time I was usually doing their dirty work while they done my job because apparently I was too slow. I had only been there a few days and they expected me to be as quick as them and they had been there for years so they knew exactly what they was doing.

What I dislike

Rude managers and co Workers. They thought they was better than me

Suggestions for improvement

I would suggest nicer people to work there and free meals and benefits

Former EmployeeWorked at Burger King in Chandler, AZ.

What I like

Most of the managers are cool and supportive and like to joke around. They won't get mad at me for a problem I wasn't aware of. They have worked with me to find a work schedule that will work with my school schedule. If I need to stop working or I able to work for even a week, they will work with me to get me shifts. Minimum wage is high. The food is delicious and I am allowed to eat some, when I want, for free. The other employees are very fun. Unless we have a lot of current customers to serve, it is a very fun environment.

What I dislike

The scheduling. When I first started working, the schedule was only scheduled like 2 days in advance. I had no idea when I was working next and even got texted "where are you?" a few times by a manager because I didn't know I had a shift. I even considered quitting because I wasn't getting enough shifts and I didn't know when they were and so I felt like I couldn't commit to anything because I might have to go into work out of the blue.

Suggestions for improvement

Having a chair or two in the back would allow me to relieve myself during an 8 hour shift of standing on my feet. Also, not everyone wears a headset. Often, I will be the only one wearing a headset and no one will know we have someone in the drive thru. I will have to shout out to them that we need food and it is very annoying.

Company Culture

Most of the managers are very nice but there are a few who aren't

Company Image

I would rather have this job than no job

Work-Life Balance

You work 6 days per week instead of 5 but the shifts are shorter

Career Development

Really your only opportunity for a promotion is to manager

Handicapped Accessibility

There are stairs and ramps

Overall compensation for your work

I am happy with my wage for my work

Inclusive / Diverse

We have very diverse employees

Environmental Friendliness

There is a lot of paper and food waste

Workplace Safety

I never received any direct training but it is common sense what to avoid

Teamwork

You must clearly communicate things to the customer

Attitude towards older colleagues

We don't have anyone over the age of 45 so I can't say that they don't

Support from management

There are a few terrible and rude managers but most are supportive

Office / Work Environment

It is hot but that is to be expected working in a kitchen

Challenging Work

The work its self is rather simple but there is a lot of stress and pressure

Job Security

They are always hiring and I know my job will eventually be lost to automation

Internal Communication

Most are good at communication but some just choose to not communicate

Gender Equality

Why would they not?

Freedom to work independently

Sometimes someone will not do something they should and I get irritated when I have to do it for them

Only suitable for teenagers looking for a little extra cash. Does NOT pay a living wage or offer benefits.

Former EmployeeWorked at B K Burger King Inc in Salt Lake City, UT.

What I like

My manager was amazing. He bent over backward to accommodate both my schedule for my other job, as well as my chronic illness which often forced me to call in for a shift. (I had to go on disability after this job.) As far as positive experiences go... that's about it.

What I dislike

I recall hearing a conversation between my GM and the district manager. The district manager was telling my GM that for every one of his employees who signed up for the companies insurance plan, he would receive a penalty to his end of year bonus. He then began laughing and said, "but don't worry, it's not like we pay any of them enough to be able to afford it anyway." I also witnessed several employees (including the shift supervisor) mocking a homeless man who had come in to get out of the snow (it was winter time) and fell asleep at one of the tables. They then called the police on him and pressed charges for trespassing. This is a HORRIBLE company to work for. They have no compassion, no empathy, and they only care about their bottom line.

Suggestions for improvement

Start giving a damn about their employees. A happy worker is a productive worker. An insured worker is a healthy worker (and a sick worker spreads disease which can result in negative reviews for the store.) Not to mention, IT'S PART OF BEING A DECENT HUMAN BEING! I will NEVER even EAT at a Burger King, EVER again, because of the way corporate treated the employees.

Company Culture

Experienced reverse racism from the hispanic employees.

Company Image

It's fast food. How COULD I be proud?

Work-Life Balance

Never scheduled overtime.

Career Development

Not too difficult to make it to a supervisor position. After that, it's not that easy.

Handicapped Accessibility

You must be a paying customer to use the facilities- regardless of disability. (I saw a homeless vet in a wheel chair get told he could not use the bathroom unless he bought something)

Overall compensation for your work

I was lied to in my interview about my starting wage. I started at $7.70/hr. despite 16 years of experience. I was promised $8.00/hr. (which still isn't nearly enough)

Inclusive / Diverse

Very diverse staff (ethnicity)

Workplace Safety

I hurt my knee due to someone elses neglegense (not cleaning up a spill and not warning anyone about it)

Teamwork

My manager tried but was not successful at preventing workplace tension.

Attitude towards older colleagues

We had one pretty old guy working for us.

Support from management

My GM was great, his boss (the district manager) was a royal dick who showed no caring or compassion for the employees.

Office / Work Environment

The kitchen became extraordinarily hot during the summer time.

Challenging Work

I've been in the industry for 16 years so it's not difficult for me. However, if you're not used to this line of work, it can become extremely difficult during peak hours.

Job Security

Had too quit due to chronic illness.

Internal Communication

Despite being talked to, the latino workers continued to say derragatory things about me in spanish. (They didn't know I could speak spanish)

Gender Equality

Most of the shift supervisors were women.

Freedom to work independently

Very little oversight after initial training.

Environmental Friendliness

It's a good opportunity to meet n work with good people n have other job opportunities for advancement

None there is nothing I disapprove of or disappointed in with this company. I am pleased with all the things they are doing n future ventures they are doing or will do in the future

Suggestions for improvement

I really don't know anything I could say to help improve anything that Burger King already has. They are a good place to get a job at period.
