Subordinates are not allowed to tell the truth about any given negative circumstance.
Support from management
Company issued safety gear is treated like its coming out of the 29’s own pocket or the employee has a side gig of selling BNSF branded safety vests on Craigslist.
Freedom to work independently
Self supervised work
Only rainbows and unicorns can be communicated.
The top echelons of the company are all men.
Upper management cannot identify what a leader looks like. It’s all about who you’re cozy with to get a promotion.
Office / Work Environment
Piss poor leadership. Bosses bark orders instead of leading a team.
Very dirty industry with little focus on low hanging fruit ideas to reduce our carbon footprint.
Peer-to-peer safety teams have become sounding boards for hub management gripes.
Inclusive / Diverse
Excellent position on progressive social issues.
Suggestions for improvement
- Identify non/under performing managers and reassign them to other areas.
